Unsend / Cancel Facebook Friend Request Sent to a Stranger

Facebook is a social networking which helps us to stay connected with friends and colleagues. There are many things we can do using Facebook like share photos, videos, chat, post interesting stuffs in Facebook Wall etc.

Number of Facebook users keeps on increasing every day. The network is growing at such great speed that today there are 500 million Active Facebook users all over the world.

Of course, few among these are your classmates and to add them as your Friend in Facebook, all you have to do is send ‘Add as Friend’ Request. Once your friend accepts it, you can continue with sharing and chatting.

One of the easiest ways to recognize friends or colleagues is through Profile photos or information related to School or Colleges displayed in profile page.

But, most Facebook users prefer not to display any information to strangers. This makes it difficult to find the right person and it will be more difficult if in case your friend has a common name.

Based on some wild guess, you will choose any user and just send ‘Add as Friend’ Request only to know that the request was sent to a wrong person.

Now, you want to Unsend the Facebook Friend Request.

After spending too much time on search, you finally realize that there are no options in Facebook to Unsend or Cancel the Friend Request.

Even though Facebook has not provided any options to Unsend or Cancel the Friend Request, there are minor tweaks which will get your work done.

Just go to the Facebook Users Profile (Stranger) to whom the request was sent. At the Left bottom of the profile page, you will find an option named ‘Report / Block this Person’, just click on it. This will open a new window, here select ‘Block this person’ and click on ‘ok’ button.

This will cancel Friend Request sent to that user and the notification of ‘New Friend Request’ will also disappear from unknown Facebook users Profile.
