What is the Price / Cost of Windows 7 in India?

Windows 7 has been launched and by now already many of them have either upgraded it from Windows XP to Windows 7, Windows Vista to Windows 7 or did a fresh installation.

If you are in India and planning to buy Windows 7, then you have good news. Microsoft has set the attractive price to India. The price is 40% lower than the US prices.

Tech2 India has managed to get the Windows 7 cost in India and here they are:

Windows 7 Home Basic – Rs. 5,899

Windows 7 Home Premium – Rs. 6,799

Windows 7 Professional – Rs. 11,199

Windows 7 Ultimate – Rs. 11,799

The software piracy is more in India. Most of the PC’s in India are powered by Windows XP and users are not aware of piracy and run illegal copy. Microsoft may have slashed the price in India to encourage Windows XP user to upgrade to Windows 7 and reduce the software piracy.
