Microsoft today announced that MS-Word, Office, PowerPoint and OneNote will be available through Web browser. The Office Web Applications will be available to consumers via Office Live, which will be ad-funded. The Office Web Applications will be available to Business Customers via hosted subscription service and volume license agreements.

People can use this application in their browser to create, edit and collaborate on Office Documents. No matter where you are, you can access your Office Documents through PC, Phone or browser.
Interesting I would use microsoft web office when a customer doesn’t have Microsoft Office otherwise I prefer a free alternative like OpenOffice which is compatible with office files or Staroffice from SUN Corp
