Intel on Monday announced the launch of Halogen Free quad-core Xeon models which are eco-friendly. Earlier this year Intel made huge news by launching first Halogen-Free Atom Line Chips.
The Quad-Core Xeon processors like L5430, X5470, X5492, and X5270 run at clock speeds ranging from 2.66GHz to 3.5GHz.
Halogenated Flame Retardants (HFR) is difficult to recycle and releases dioxins, a toxic chemical potentially harmful if inhaled during incineration. Although there is no legislation on the elimination of Halogenated Flame Retardants (HFR), Intel has taken steps to apply Halogen-Free Packaging Technology for Chipset products.
