Google has released a new service called Google Knol. A knol is an authoritative article about a specific topic. The word ‘Knol’ means unit of knowledge. Knol is similar to Wikipedia, but gives great importance to the author and you can also enable your Google ads in Knol.

The articles written in Knol cannot be edited by unknown user without the permission of the Author. As compared to Wikipedia, which could be easily edited to provide wrong information on World leaders, Celebrities, History etc.
