Have any idea about the price in India?

In US it is like ~$200 for the phone and ~$200 to $400 for activation, so in total it would come to ~$600.

The iPhone you’hv been waiting for. Coming soon on Vodafone. To book, sms IPHONE to 56789 or log on to http://www.vodafone.in/ and they will update you soon regarding the Price and Availability of it in Indian market. The basic information they want to book your iPhone is Your Name, Email-id, Your Mobile no. and Location. Vodafone is published a Advt. in leading newspaers regarding this. In fight for launching iPhone first in India before Bharati Airtel, they won the fight. It was speculated that Vodafone is going to launch iPhone only in December end and Bharat Airtel will launch near around Diwal festival to woo customer. But as it seems Vodafone is started booking from today, so Bharati is lacking behind only. With this Vodafone already ended many speculation whether Apple is going to launch iPhone 3G or the older version. iPhone 3G will be avilable in India in 8Gb and 16 Gb version. The date for new iPhone worlwide release is 11th July. May be they will launch iPhone 3G in India on same date.

iphone 3g is very good. i have already seen its post release reviews. but the saddest thing is it is not released in india. even though the bookings are open it will take more time. it may hit india nxt year. but the price of it in india(around 16000 – 18000 for a basic 8gb model according to some unknown persons n some leading websites) is a bit high for the features it had at present. if it comes for the same price a it is in US, ie $200 (around 10,000) is worthwhile. but am sure that the price will be a bit high n the plan for that will also be high such that it may become a hurdle between a basic employee n apple iphone.

Apple should really fire their marketing team for a delayed Iphone launch here, delayed launch means more people go to the dark side of unlocking.

Guys there’s an update from zee business that the unsubsidized and no commitment iphone 3g will cost 24000/- INR . But the controversial part is that they say launch date for vodafone is between 22nd to 26 th august and not 18th as per tech2.com . I am confused- to believe tech2.com or zee business for launch date.
I hope tech2 replies..

I wouldn’t buy an iPhone at the given price point. Airtel and Vodafone are nothing but greedy, pricing it at 31000 and 36100 INR. When in the US can buy for 8500 and 12500 INR. I don’t know how they arrived at the price. Given that we don’t have 3G yet. A big thumbs down for both Airtel and Vodafone.

Guys,

Few things about the comments related to pricing. Price of 31,000 and 36,100 is the good price. when you see the price of $200 in US or likewise in Europe, this is the price only if you take a contract with the provider.

That is you pay $200 and also around $70 per month for 12 months.

If you buy just the phone in US or Europe, it is probably slightly more expensive than what we pay for in India.

Also there is no need to get excited about the 3G feature of the phone as we do not have 3G yet in India, so we will have to live with 2G transfer rates (even though Nepal got 3G few YEARS back).

Hi there

I would appreciate, if any one out there updates me with the latest price tag for apple I-Phone 3g/8g in India.

However I cross checked in Dubai for the same Iphones, seems to be expensive, I guess Iphone 3g is quiet less, compare to other countries.

Let me know the price for Apple Iphone 3g

Thanks
